Small cabinet (7-10 cm)

Description

Nice uncommon association specimen and of good size is this prismatic transparent crystal of gypsum, with a net longitudinal twin. It has on it a nice cluster of blue smithsonite crystals that develop a "rice grain" style habit. Underneath, a pale blue crust coats the gypsum, that it is not fluorescent. However, under short UV light tiny deep green fluorescent crystals are recognized included in the gypsum, just under the smithsonite, that are likely willemite.

Very rare association and locality specimen from La Platosa, that was acquired by W. Moorer in 1980 to Jan Van Den Berg. Ex Wilfred Moorer (1945-2015) #2871.
