Description

Outstanding specimen of the new and extremely rare organic mineral hokkaidoite (IMA 2022-104) (C22H12) from one of the two type localities in Japan.

Hokkaidoite occurs as yellow inclusions and crystal aggregates in opal, very clearly visible under 365nm SW UV light (see photo).

Very rich specimen since almost all is hokkaidoite !

Only two known localities worldwide.
