Description

Lustrous scepter amethyst quartz from Cervera de Buitrago, near El Atazar reservoir (Madrid), of intense purple colour and nice phantoms near the core. The prism faces show typical stepped growth and are mostly recrystallized, with an scepter termination. This amethyst specimen is from a very small find of a decade ago. It is small but such crystals from Madrid are extremely rare and I’m told that just about 2 dozens were found in a single cavity, with only 2 pieces on matrix and only 3 were scepters.

Found by E. Ruíz in 4/2012. Ex I.Blanco collection.
