Description

Classic US specimen from Clear Creek Township, Marion Co., Kansas, USA. Ex Dr. Otto Kuntze, 1867-1908, prominent Iowa mineral collector and dealer, born in Nordhausen, Germany. Small octahedron labeled as goethite psm magnetite, the last one that was present in a small cardbox from obviously formerly 200 crystals that Kuntze offered as a lot. Found in a forgotten drawer at Krantz. Given the sedimentary geology of that area, pyrite is much more probable as the proto-mineral.
