Description

Numerous thin layer deposits of andradite have built towards a mass of andradite garnet. Where crystals have grown clear from the mass they are well formed, with crisp edges and angles up to 2mm and 3mm across. The colour ranges from dark red brown to lighter values touched with orange. The crystal surfaces also are lustrous with some material partially gemmy. The specimen has little outcrops of black metallic hausmannite formed into little mounds. There are also a few white baryte in a tabular form.
