Adularia With Chlorite

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Heiligenblut am Großglockner, Spittal an der Drau District, Carinthia, Austria
Size Range:
Miniature (4.5-7 cm)
Size:
6 × 5 × 5.5 cm
Description

The specimen was mined at “Teufelskamp”, 3400m above sealevel in the South Slope of Austria´s highest mountain. The cleft was protected by ice, so nearly all faces show perfect luster. Some of the crystals show sharp terminated chlorite-phantoms. This is very unusual, the chlorite is only inside. The specimen is developed as floater, only minor damage at the base. Ex Martin Gruell Coll.
