Description

Solid cabinet featuring at least a dozen of blood red hessonite garnets associated to a few pale green acicular diopside and traces of brown vesuvianite. Garnet is deep red, lustrous, with typical rhombododecahedral faces. The key highlight of the specimen is the thick diopside crystal, which is perched in the middle of one of the specimen display faces. It is lustrous and in pretty good conditions, even with some local transparency. As an addition, multiple green clinochlore 'packages' too.

A good specimen from this renowned Alpine locality, dated back to the early 90s. Very sought after material. One side of the specimen was sawn for better display (not by me).
