Description

A couple of textbook jet black ilvaite crystals proudly protrude from a coarse crystalline ilvaite matrix specimen. The two main crystals display a pretty good lustre for both the specie and the locality, and besides some peripheral bruises, the specimen is rich and in good conditions. The third crystal, rather short and protected (tried to depict it here) is very lustrous. Bottom is partly sawn.

Quite an oldtimer. I purchased it in 2011 from a Swiss collector who used to collect at Elba in the 60s. Then I had it prepped by the Italian preparator legend and friend Maurizio 'Scheggia' Prati.

In my collection since almost 10 years.
