Description

A magnificent group of crystallised native copper from the oxidised zone of the Broken Hill lode.

This specimen from the Block 10 mine was collected prior to World War 1. This abhorescent form is distinctive, consisting of a single 7.3cm elongated spinel twinned copper octahdra , which branches repeatedly off to one side of the central crystal.

The specimen has a beautiful pinkish patina due to a fine veneer of cuprite over the copper.
