Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Bom Sucesso #4 Quarry, Tavares, Mangualde, Viseu District, Portugal
Class:
Crystals on Matrix
Size Range:
Miniature (4.5-7 cm)
Size:
4.7 × 4.4 × 2.5 cm
Description

Hundreds of transparent tabular bertrandite crystals of very intense vitreous lustre, associated to prismatic quartz and tiny blue fluorapatite crystals. The matrix is a flattened pink microcline crystal that was broken at the base, etched and naturally healed, producing a floater piece.

It was found on April 13th 2013 by a well-known Spanish “Strahler” at the Bom Sucesso No. 4 Quarry. This is a very good, already hard to find specimen, from this uncommon locality that unfortunately is already inaccessible for collectors.
