Description

Beautiful purple coloured laminar “lepidolite”, now defined as a polylithionite-trilithionite series, are stacked on curved aggregates. It was a donation in 1970 by Dr. Friedrich Koller von der Universität Wien, to Dr. Heinz Meixner*. Ex Prof. Dr. Elisabeth Kirchner (1935-2023), who was a Professor at the Salzburg University (Austria).

*Prof. Dr. Heinz Meixner (1908-1981). Professor in Mineralogy, Petrology and Economic Geology at the Institute for Mineralogy at the University of Salzburg. Dr Meixner was the best expert on mineralogy in Austria (Pfaffl, 1986). Meixnerite was named after him. Fritz A. Pfaffl (1986). Memorial of Heinz Meixner (November 4, 1908-December 19, 1981).
