Description

Nice cluster of flattened rutile crystals forming a cyclic twinning on {101}. It is a complete, floater piece, with a contact to the matrix at the rear. It shows rounded corners and erosions because these were founds in fluvial terraces at the Rutongo area, worked mainly for cassiterite. Extremely rare locality in collections, this is one of the best present in the collection of Professor Albert Delvaux (1919-1998), who collected them in 1963.
