New Discovery

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Marsanges Mine, Marsanges, Langeac, Haute-Loire, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, France
Class:
Crystal Group/Cluster
Size Range:
Small miniature (3-4.5 cm)
Size:
3.7 × 2.2 × 2.4 cm
Description

The specimen is from an old Fluorite mine, which closed in 1977. In 2017 the French field collector Nicolas Vignat bought the mine only for specimen-mining. This particular piece is out of a small discovery from this year. The crystal consits of uncountable tiny steps - all razor sharp terminated and all faces are lustrous. Nearly impossible to capture this effect with the camera, so I have to note that it is much better in person. Developed as floater, undamaged.
