Description

Aurichalcite is also a mineral, which came only from a few localities world-wide in this size, color and quality. Ojuela is probably the very best locality for the mineral and again this one is exceptional - I really never saw any other specimen that shows crystals up to 27mm across, not even larger than 2cm. The two main crystals are up to 27mm acros - sharp terminated, highly lustrous rhombs! I have to note that the luster is much better in person - on the photo the faces look more frosted, that is only caused by refraction of light, in person the faces are glossy and on highest luster. The two main crystals are very exposed and the assemble is more impressive when you see it in person. The dark brown-red matrix at the lower base helps to give a lot of contrast to the piece. The color is really hard to capture with the camera - so twice: better in person. No significant damages to report, backside was on the rock
