Description

Usually this material is labeled with Brixlegg - that is correct, but not exact. The accurate locality is Rotenstein mine. Of course not a mine in our days - most of it is collapsed, you can count good pieces from there on your hands! This one is a very attractive sample - the matrix formed two wings, partly covered with tiny beige crystals of Dolomite. Some areas are covered with lustrous Malachite and in the front-side the specimen seems to have a bird-head, even with a black spout. Next to rarity I like the sculptural assemble, that makes it look like a bird. For me collecting means - next to eye-catching specimen - also have an focus on rarities and for unique things. And in this case we have both - rare AND beautiful with even great historic background. No significant damages to report.
