Description

First a little information about the locality: Ritterkopf mountain is located in the national park "Hohe Tauern". Field collecting is prohibited, only a few local collectors have a permit from the goverment - and even these guys are only allowed to use a small hammer and a chisel. So material from the area is very rare and hard to obtain. The clefts on Ritterkopf are near the peak elevation of 3006 meters above sea-level. The crystal is very typical for the locality. It is water-clear, highly lustrous and with a chlorite layer on one or two backsides  this chlorite layer is typical for Ritterkopf, nearly all crystals from the mountain have this indicator in common. Clarity and luster are much better in person, no significant damages to report.
