Description

The specimen is out a very small discovery from 2005 – only two small vugs produced a small number of this so called „Rainbow-fluorite“. The came out the „Bergmännisch-Glück-Flacher“ vein and there were only a fist full of specimen from this find, this stuff represents one of the most wanted rarities from the entire area. The special feature is the colour – when backlit you can see a yellow centre, many different shades of green, blue and violet along the edges, really amazing and unique in the space of fluorite. Since I collect and deal with fluorites I cannot remember how many specimen from China, Namibia, Uk and other prominent localities I had. Even from Hilton Mine, even Alien fluorites – yes even pink alpine fluorites I had more quantity than rainbow fluorites. I showed 3 of this specimen from December to February on e-rocks, they were all from the same cleft. The particular one seems to be from the second cleft which produced this amazing material. On photos you won´t see the difference, but this one is a little darker and it shows less red haematite layer inter grown to faces. I wouldn’t rank it higher than the specimen from the other cleft, but I wanted to note that there is a difference. Please note, that this material is incredible hard to obtain – one of the greatest rarities in the space of fluorite. And it´s not just a small sample on average. The specimen is a well formed group, featuring sharp glossy crystals with very intense colour. Damages are limited to the edges of the piece, backside was on the rock.
