Description

Großglockner mountain is the highest peak of Austrian Alps. The locality where the particular specimen was found is close to peak-elevation and came out a cleft below Pasterze-glacier. The entire mountain range belongs to the national park "Hohe Tauern", collecting and digging is prohibited there. Specimen was found from only 2 Strahler, who have a permit for this area. Both minerals were protected from errosion, cleft was filled with ice. Uusally alpine clefts are near the surface and most specimen are etched. Not so here - both minerals; calcite as well adularia are very glossy, also sharp terminated and assemble is excellent. The calcite is very gemmy and exposed, set on adualria at same high quality. well balanced, aesthetic assemble and a great rarity! no sigificent damages to report (contact on calcite backside) and much better in person.
