Description

A massive specimen featuring silvery metallic, crystalline of löllingite intermixed with mossy green colored serpentine host rock matrix. Quite nice for the species and locality.

Złoty Stok (old german name Reichenstein) is an ancient Au-bearing arsenopyrite deposit. Gold mining activities date back to the 13th century and peaked in the 16th century. In the 20th century the deposit was mined for arsenic. Mining stopped in 1961.

Comes with a newer, unfortunately damaged Krantz label dated to the 60's or 70's and on-glued corresponding number sticker.
