Description

This is an old geological sample out of Dr. Krantz stock, with an interesting history: First labeling on a part of an antique Krantz label was "Laurite with platinum + osmiridium etc" (laurite is an extremely rare ruthenium sulphide), the second label states "Laurite with platinum, osmiridium, gold, silver - Locality maybe Borneo" and on the third label is the analysis made in 1987: "Analysis of the supposed laurite sample from Borneo, FEbr. 1987: mainly Pt, Au, Pd, Hg, Cu, Ru < 0.5%, black octahedrons partly chromite, partly hematite --> no laurite". This mixture is clearly visible in the pictures. The size of the biggest grain is 6 x 3 mm, 0.12 grams, total 0.49 grams. Weight: 2.52 grams incl. vial
