A beautiful small cabinet specimen of water clear, rose coloured gemmy calcite to 9mm, from the Pallaflat Mine, Bigrigg, Cumbria, England, UK. The calcites have a slight rose colour due to very slight hematite inclusions. Damages are minimal, a few small chips, but this is in great condition and its very rare to find a specimen this good from Pallaflat now, a true British classic. The Pallaflat Mine operated between 1874 to 1914 and many collectors found these quality calcites in the mine dumps during the 1980s and 1990s. This specimen most likely dates to the mid 1980's.
Ex. Donald Stockton (1929 - 2016) Collection, with Don's old label.
