Description

Light coloured rhyolitic matrix with small, lustrous, dark brown crystals of the rare tourmaline group mineral, fluor-beugerite, from the species Type Locality. Apparently the first specimens from here appeared at a Tucson Show during the 1960's. However the miner who found them died without revealing where the specimens came from! This is also believed to be the only known example of tourmaline crystals being found in rhyolite host rock.
