Description

An attractive fluorescent specimen from a classic Scottish locality. The specimen consists of 2 phases of calcite growth, the first white and massive and the second consisting of large deep brown crystals. Under short wave UV light the white calcite shows a bright orange colour and the brown a dull creamy yellow colour with mild phosphorescence. Some small white brewsterite crystals are also present on the specimen. The UV photos were taken under the effect of a 9W SWUV lamp.
