Description

Carlhintzeite is a very rare CaAl-Fluoride named in honor of Dr. Carl Adolf Ferdinand Hintze, Professor of Mineralogy and director of the Mineralogische Institut, Univerity of Breslau,  Germany

Hintze was acclaimed for his compilation of the famous systematic "Handbuch der Mineralogie" and particularly for its comprehensive listing of mineral localities.

A beautiful white spray of Carlhintzeite on top of violet strengite crystals in a vug of the rockbridgeite/quartz matrix.

The specimen comes from the famous Wendland collection and was found in the early 1950s.
