Description

After more than two years I finally found again a few pieces of this interesting material. Chalcocite (superficially altering to malachite) pseudomorph after wood. Those fossilized logs were really mined for the copper. Nowadays this material is very scarce and sought after. This is one of the biggest log pieces I have with very nice wood structure. The chalcocite itself is in parts altered to malachite.
As far as I know this is the only locality which had this kind of chalcocite-after-wood pseudomorph.
