Uvarovite & Cobaltpentlandite

Classic Locality

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Outokumpu, North Karelia, Finland
Size Range:
Miniature (4.5-7 cm)
Size:
6.8 × 3.7 × 3.4 cm
Largest Crystal:
0.70cm
Description

A very good specimen, full of big, dark green uvarovite crystals up to 0.7 cm. Three of the uvarovite crystals have beautiful, glossy surfaces. As an extra you get some massive, bronce-yellow cobaltpendlandite (type locality) in the quartz matrix. Not all of the garnet crystals are perfect, but look at their big size (for uvarovite) and the beautiful color (much better in nature). And remember, the locality (best uvarovites worldwide) is practically defunkt and no new finds can be made.
I think this could be trimmed very nicely.
