Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Oberlaussa, Sankt Gallen, Liezen District, Styria, Austria
Class:
Mixed Specimens
Size Range:
Small miniature (3-4.5 cm)
Size:
3 × 2.2 × 1.4 cm
Description

Rare old material from one of Austria`s most prominent localities for fluorite collectors. The discovery was made in the 70ties, today the locality is non-productive, since decades no discoveries there. With luck you can find broken tiny crystals in the creek. The fluorite cube sits exposed on a light calcite crystal. The gloss of the faces is excellent - a slight structure can be seen on the surface. The translucent color is impressive violet. A purple zoning can be seen with the low LED backlit. The piece is not big but just perfect!
