Description

Dark honey colored amber, variety plaffeiite with charred remains of wood or plants in gray sandstone matrix. The amber lenses reach a diameter of up to 3.9 cm and are very glassy with high-gloss mussel-like breakage. This specimen has several amber spots on both sides of the matrix. The amber changes the color under UV light to light beige! Nice contrast. Very rare material from the Swiss Alps.
