Bucket Of Holes - S Gross Micro Collection: 24 May - 29 May 2025

I’m pleased to offer selections from the Siegfried T. Gross micromineral collection.

Siegfried was one of the founders of the Colorado Springs Mineralogical Society along with prominent collectors such as Lazard Cahn, Edwin Over and Cecil Graves, and under their tutelage developed a keen interest in microminerals.

His collection is an assemblage of specimens gifted to him by many prominent collectors of microminerals at the time as well as self collected material from classic Colorado localities, some of which are long extinct.

The collection was assembled from about 1930 to sometime around 1949 and features hundreds of antique samples mounted in the oblong paper micromount boxes of the period.
