Description

Sharp crystals of shinkolobweite on matrix with uraninite and unknowns.  The shinkolobweite occurs as bright orange crystals and masses, also as orange-brown crystals as seen in the second photo with an unidentified pale yellow mineral.   Some wyartite is likely present on the specimen.

This specimen is a fragment of a large specimen of wyartite from the Rock Currier collection.   This specimen was dropped and fragmented prior to sale.   The bright orange crystals, referred to on the label as kasolite, were checked by single crystal x-ray and found to be exceptional crystals of shinkolobweite.
